[hoshi.gif] In regard to traffic regulations imposed on National Highway Route 1 (Gojo St.) before and after the Higashiyama elevated roadway:
Concentrated works will be performed to implement non-joint construction and enhanced drainage pavement (low-noise pavement) and replace the lighting equipment on the Higashiyama elevated roadway, part of National Highway Route 1 (Gojo St. elevated roadway). Accordingly, the following traffic regulations will be enforced during the daytime and nighttime. We would like to ask for your patience and cooperation during the construction period.

Kyoto City, Yamashina-ku, Kamikazan, Asahiyama-cho - Kyoto City, Higashiyama-ku, East end of the Gojo Bridge

[ Daytime lane regulations ]  Traffic regulated to one (1) lane
(Time period:) Jan. 29, 2001 (Mon.) - Feb. 23, 2001 (Fri.), weekdays
(Hours:) 9:00AM - 5:00PM
Transit by special vehicles permitted (However, heavy congestion is expected)

[ Nighttime lane regulations ]  Entire elevated road closed (Ramps open to traffic)
(Time period:) Middle of Feb. 2001 to the beginning of March 2001, weekdays
(Hours:)10:00PM - 6:00AM
Vehicles 3.8m or taller (Special vehicles) will require guidance for transit.

* In addition to the items above, works will be performed on the shoulders of the roadway until the end of April. During the daytime, regulations will be imposed prohibiting access to the road shoulders, and during the nighttime, use of the roadway will be regulated to one lane.
